Webinar to Discuss Need for Annual Physical Therapy Checkups

Published on

A webinar presented by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Learning Center will examine why physical therapy clinics should offer annual checkups. According to an online course description, the webinar will review the standardized elements developed for an annual examination and how it can be applied to the multiple conditions that exist in a community. In addition, the webinar will discuss what to do with the information and how to track individuals over their lifespan.

The online course description also notes that the digital seminar will detail the advantages of adding this diversification to a clinical practice, provide tips to begin a program, and measure its success to assist in participating in the changing health care environment.  Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to describe the importance of standardized elements of an annual physical therapy checkup and apply aspects of EBP to the checkup process.

Following the webinar, participants should also be able to list business considerations for offering this service and describe a model used in clinical practice for implementing the annual checkup. The seminar will also highlight how to use APTA resources to provide annual checkups.

The webinar, titled “Why an Annual PT Checkup Should and Could Be a Service Your Clinic Offer,” will be Thursday, October 23 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm, ET. David W. M. Taylor, PT, DPT, GCS, and Jon Delk, PT, MSPT, will be the presenters for the course. The seminar will be available to members and non-members.
